With over 20 years of experience ranging from K-12 to university level education and central administration, Dr. Sherry Leonard-Foots is an expert at examining and optimizing operations, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies. She is an engaging, dynamic, and advanced problem-solver, highly skilled at working with diverse student and family demographics, and excelling both independently and collaboratively within high-pressure environments.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcasting from Texas State University. During my studies, I did internships in Austin, TX at KXAN, the NBC Affiliate and KAZI 88.7 FM Radio. In addition I worked as a Reporter for our campus Channel 19 News station in San Marcos TX.
While working full-time as a Graduate Assistant Program Manager in the Department of Student Life, developing and promoting on-campus events for students, I completed my Master's degree in Sociology at Prairie View A&M University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.83 GPA.

Additionally, I have 3 years of experience in the dual credit environment, making me uniquely qualififed to serve in educational leadership in dual credit enrollment educational settings.
Dr. Sherry Leonard-Foots is an experienced intermediate Spanish bilingual educator, administrator, and academic leader with over 20 years expertise in teaching, program coordination, and educational intervention. She currently serves as an RtI (Response to Intervention) Coordinator at Dallas College - Richland Collegiate High School, a role in which she applies her deep knowledge of dual credit enrollment, student services and academic interventions to support student success.
Dr. Leonard-Foots holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration with a focus on higher education from Texas A&M University-Commerce, where she completed her dissertation titled "The Prior Accumulation of Dual Credit Enrollment Hours as a Measure of First Year Persistence at a 4-Year University." She has extensive experience in dual credit programs, academic intervention, and leadership roles, including her work as an Assistant Principal at Spring Valley Elementary School and Title I Intervention Facilitator at South Garland High School. In higher education, Dr. Leonard-Foots has been an Adjunct Asynchronous Remote Professor of Sociology, teaching Perspectives in the Social Sciences and Applied Social Sciences at Southern New Hampshire University - SNHU, since 2018.
With a passion for educational equity, Dr. Leonard-Foots has dedicated her career to addressing the unique needs of at-risk students and providing educational opportunities that empower young minds. She is also a published author, contributing to the field of education with her research on dual credit enrollment, which was featured in the International Journal of Education.
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Leonard-Foots holds multiple certifications, including a Texas K-12 Principal's Certification and teaching certifications in ESL, Special Education, and English Language Arts. She is committed to continuing her work in educational leadership and aims to inspire the next generation of educators and students through her research, teaching, and leadership.
